WHAT TO EXPECT
Five calm steps,
start to finish.
Every visit follows the same unhurried routine, so you always know what comes next. Plan for 1 to 3 hours per person, depending on hair length and thickness and how many lice are found.

Head check
Kyla looks through the hair section by section under bright light and shows you what she finds. It’s a screening, not medical care, and you decide together what happens next.

Conditioning oil
If you go ahead with treatment, Kyla works a pesticide-free dimethicone (silicone) conditioning oil through the hair. It helps the comb glide and makes tangles easier to manage.

Comb-out
Using a professional fine-tooth comb, Kyla works through small sections by hand to remove lice and nits. Breaks are welcome whenever anyone needs one.

We wash the oil out here at the clinic, so nobody heads home with greasy hair.

You leave with a take-home aftercare sheet of simple next steps, and we book your free re-check for 7–10 days later before you go.

Very thick hair moves up one tier (short hair is priced as shoulder-length, shoulder-length as long or thick). Final tier confirmed at your visit.

NK Lice Solutions is a locally owned Yakima business.
Through my personal and professional experience, I have developed a strong understanding of lice removal, prevention, and the importance of providing customers with a comfortable, judgment-free experience. I take pride in being thorough, detail-oriented, and committed to helping families return to a lice-free home.
Kyla brings more than 10 years of hands-on experience checking children’s hair for lice and removing it for friends and family. She has studied head lice removal and the lice life cycle in depth through research, instructional videos, and hands-on practice.
We see one family at a time, so there’s no rush, just patient help and no judgment.
Between every family: After every use, all combs and tools are soaked in water hotter than 130°F, following CDC guidance, then kept in a hospital-grade disinfecting solution until their next use. Chairs and surfaces are wiped down with hospital-grade disinfectant wipes between every visit.

How much does it cost?
Treatment is $80 for short hair, $105 for shoulder-length hair, and $155 for long or thick hair. A head check is $25 for the first person and $20 for each additional household member. A person’s check fee is credited toward their treatment if they are treated the same day. Kyla confirms the final tier at your visit.
Do I need an appointment?
No. You’re welcome to walk in during our regular hours. Walk-ins are seen after any scheduled appointments, so booking ahead is the easiest way to skip the wait. Book online anytime; appointments start Saturday, November 7. You can also call, text, or email to plan a visit.
How long does a visit take?
It depends on hair length and thickness and how many lice are found. A typical visit takes 1 to 3 hours per person. We’ll give you an estimate when you book.
What should we bring?
Bring dry, brushed-out hair with no styling products, a list of any allergies or scalp concerns, and something to keep younger kids busy, such as headphones or a tablet. If another adult is bringing a child, please have the signed written permission from the parent or guardian ready.
Do you see children? Does a parent need to stay?
Yes, most of the people we help are children. A parent or legal guardian stays in the clinic for the whole visit of anyone under 18. Another adult may bring a child with the parent or guardian’s written permission; that adult shows photo ID and stays for the whole visit.
What do you put in the hair?
A pesticide-free dimethicone (silicone) conditioning oil that helps the comb glide. Lice and nits are removed by hand with a professional fine-tooth comb. We aren’t a medical office, so for scalp sores, rashes, or medical questions, please see your healthcare provider.
Is the hair wash included?
Yes. Every treatment ends with a hair wash here at the clinic to rinse out the conditioning oil. It’s included in the treatment price.
How does the re-check work?
Every treatment includes one free re-check for the same person within 7–10 days of the comb-out. If Kyla finds live lice at the re-check, re-treatment is half the regular price for that person’s hair tier. Please follow the take-home aftercare sheet between visits.
Should everyone in the household be checked?
We suggest it. Lice spread by head-to-head contact, so checking everyone at the same visit helps you know where things stand. The first head check is $25, and each additional household member is $20. A check fee is credited toward that person’s treatment if they are treated the same day.
How do I pay?
Payment is due at your visit. We accept cash or card, and there’s no card surcharge. Pay over time with Afterpay: 4 interest-free payments. Subject to eligibility and Afterpay approval; late fees may apply. Ask for an itemized receipt if you’d like to check with your health plan about reimbursement.
Is my family’s information private?
